NISS Board of Trustees Named for 2008-09 Fiscal Year

Press Release Summary: The National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) announced its Board of Trustees members for the Fiscal 2008-2009 year. James Landwehr, of Avaya Labs, is the new chairman of the Board.

Press Release Body: The National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) announced its Board of Trustees members for the Fiscal 2008-2009 year. The Board approved the new members unanimously. Members of the board serve three-year terms.

Joining the NISS Board of Trustees are:
. Mary Ellen Bock, Purdue University
. Keith Soper, Merck
. Clifford Spiegelman, Texas A&M University
. Michael Kosorok, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
James Rosenberger, Pennsylvania State University

The new executive committee includes:
. James Landwehr, Avaya Laboratories, who will serve as chairman
. Jessica M. Utts, University of California Davis, who will serve as vice chair
. Mary Ellen Bock, Purdue University
. Keith Soper, Merck
. Linda J. Young, University of Florida
. Leland Wilkinson, Systat
. John Rolph, University of Southern California
Landwehr and Utts replace Vijay Nair and Leland Wilkinson who served as chair and vice chair of the Board respectively from 2004-2008.

\"We expect to grow as an organization this year. With the new addition to our facility underway, new staff members and more programs, we expect that NISS will be more well-known than it has been in the past. Our Board of Trustees will do an excellent job helping us to move into these new directions,\" remarked Alan Karr, director of NISS.

NISS expects to have the 11,782 square foot addition to its building completed in October.
